what. beacons seen (07 October 2018)

where. Causeway between St. John's Island and Lazarus Island, Singapore

remarks. A series of 4 beacons on the northern flank of the causeway, likely to serve as navigational aids to warn ships or boats in the bay. Through land reclamation and construction of causeways, the former islands of Lazarus Island, Seringat Island, Pulau Seringat Kechil, and St. John's Island as well as the sandbank of Kias have been merged into a singular landmass.

note. Malay for lighthouse: rumah api; Mandarin Chinese for lighthouse: 灯塔 (simplified script; dēngtǎ), 燈塔 (traditional script; dēngtǎ); Tamil for lighthouse: கலங்கரை விளக்கம் (kalaṅkarai viḷakkam)
